01What we are

SutraBook is where you book a room directly with an independent hotel, homestay or guest house in India. Whatever the property charges is what you pay; we do not add a booking fee, and we do not mark the room up.

We are a brand of SutraStack, operated by Sutra Stack Private Limited.

02Where we came from

SutraStack builds the software that small Indian hotels run on — the front desk, the room chart, the billing, the tax paperwork. It is used by independent properties that do not have a revenue team or an IT department, and it was built in the Himalayas, close to the kind of hotel it serves.

Those properties kept asking for the same thing: a dependable way for a guest to book them directly, at the property's own price and on the property's own terms. SutraBook is that.

The company was incubated at IIT Mandi Catalyst, funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, and is recognised by DPIIT.

03What this means when you book

• You are booking the property, not a reseller. Your booking lands on the property’s own system the moment you pay.
• The price includes GST and every applicable fee, and nothing is added at the payment step.
• The cancellation terms are the property’s own, shown as an amount before you pay rather than after.
• If something goes wrong, there is a person to call, and our phone number is on the Contact page.
